It is known that classical string dynamics in pure AdS5 x S5 is integrable and plays an important role in solvability. We numerically investigate classical string equations of motion in the AdS soliton background and find chaotic solutions, thereby implying non-integrability. We also arrive at the same conclusion from an analytical approach to the problem.
