Description
Functoriality and theta (Howe) correspondences are common methods used to
construct the representations that arise in the theory of automorphic forms.
Comparing these methods can lead to striking examples with implications for
number theory. In this talk I will give an introduction to functoriality and
theta-correspondences and then look at some examples of how the methods
compare.
