Description
Jets are outputs of clustering algorithms that group the hadronic energy cells of detectors in a well-defined way. Understanding and precisely calculating jet-observables are of immense importance in verifying and understanding the Standard Model of particle physics and especially in the discovery of new physics. In the first half of the talk, I will briefly review new ideas in jet physics and mention the remarkable progress made in the last few years. In the next half, I will introduce a radically new proposal -- a non-deterministic clustering algorithm, which renders remarkable stability to jet observables and provides new measures for discovering new physics.
