Description
First three mass generating mechanisms of the Standard Model are discussed at an introductory level. The simplest system where all three play a role is the proton. Then current high precision lattice QCD calculations are presented. They can reproduce not only the experimentally measured proton mass, but even the tiny neutron-proton mass difference. Some of the difficulties in obtaining the latter are presented in more detail.
