Description
I shall briefly review the present status of the electroweak part of the Standard Model, mainly highlighting the experimental and theoretical constraints on the Higgs mass. I shall then discuss why we need to go Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). The BSM tour will be guided by symmetry arguments. I shall cover four specific BSM scenarios: supersymmetry, Little Higgs, Gauge-Higgs unification, and the Higgsless models.
