Description

Baryon formfactors have recently received increased attention. In particular, a precise knowledge of the nucleon vector and axial formfactors is required for the new generation of terrestrial neutrino experiments. To achieve the desired accuracy, lattice QCD determinations of these formfactors are necessary. Such calculations are challenging due to contamination from excitations, in particular from 𝑁𝜋 scattering states. Transitions from a 𝑁 to a 𝑁𝜋, mediated b vector or an axial current, are also interesting on their own, as these are related to the
electro- or the neutrino-induced production of pions. The latter process
is prominent in long baseline neutrino experiments. I will summarize state-of-the-art lattice QCD formfactor determinations, discuss recent results and give an outlook on future prospects.
