The Winter School on Non-Local Correlations in Quantum Technology aims to provide an in-depth exploration of the novel phenomena arising from non-local couplings/interactions in quantum platforms. This school will focus on the theoretical foundations, experimental realizations, and practical applications of non-local correlations and entanglement effects, which are pivotal for advancing quantum technologies. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of both experimental devices and the theoretical methods most commonly applied to them. They will explore how non-local couplings enhance information transport and disrupt several constraints imposed by locality in traditional quantum systems. Lecturers will delve into the impact of long-range interactions on the dynamical phases of quantum systems, including pre-thermal phases and universal defect formation, and study the novel forms of equilibrium critical scaling. Additionally, participants will examine the current atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) systems that feature long-range interactions, such as Bose-Einstein condensates, Rydberg atoms, and ion chains.
