DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Sachindeo Vaidya (CTS\, IISc)\n\nGauge matrix models
may be thought of as describing the extreme low energy fluctuations of th
e corresponding parent gauge field theories. We will describe the construc
tion of these models\, and touch upon some theoretical aspects like the ga
uge configuration space and its singularities. We will then describe the 2
 -color-2-flavor model\, and examine it at large baryon\, isospin\, and/or
chiral chemical potentials. There exists a complex web of quantum phases\,
labelled by baryon number B and isospin I. Interestingly\, several of the
se phases are LOFF-like\, characterized by a ground state which carries no
n-zero spin. The fermionic content of these LOFF-like ground states consis
ts of spin-1 di-(anti-) quarks which are analogous to Cooper pairs.\n\nhtt
